#CWC15 day 5: #BanvAfg

It was a clash of Asian minnows on day 5. Bangladesh and Afghanistan last played each other in Asia cup and Afghanistan won that match. This was even bigger stage and both of them were confident of beating each other.
Game 7: Bangladesh vs Afghanistan
Mortaza won the toss at Canberra and chose to bat first by keeping conditions in mind. Anamul and Tamim started very slowly. They got only 38 runs in first 10 overs. Bangladesh lost their first wicket on the score of 47. Tamim Iqbal got out on 19 off 42 balls. Iqbal didn't live upto aashayein of Bangladesh. Moreover Anamul followed him on the score 52. There was a 50 run partnership between Soumya and Mahmudullah then. Soumya's cameo came to an end on 102. Slow and sluggish Mahmudullah followed him on 119.
There was a great batting display by Rahim and Shakib after that. Shakib became the first bangladeshi batsman to reach to 4000 run mark. Both of them added 114 runs and their partnership was broken at the score of 233. At that point of time Bangladesh was looking good to reach atleast 280 run mark but their lower order tumbled. Bangladesh got out on 267 as Afghanistan pulled of well in the end. Afghani bowlers shared the wickets within themselves. I think it was a below par score on that pitch.
Afghanistan looked way too nervous they lost three wickets in first three overs of their innings. Navroz Mangal tried to stabilize the innings but his fight didn't last longer. Then Shenwari and Nabi made good forties but that was not enough. In the end Afghanistan got out on 162 and Bangladesh won the game comprehensively. Bangladesh never looked back after the start they got from their skipper Mortaza. Bangladesh didn't allowed Afghanistan to take the control of the game. They wanted to beat Afghanistan comprehensively to take revenge of Asia cup and they did that.
Afghanistan's entry in this world cup is a story in itself but their debut was completely spoilt by Bangladesh. Hope Afghanistan take away some cherishable moments from this world cup.
Next game again is a clash of minnows but Zimbabwe has shown lot of promise in this world cup. Let's see how they perform against UAE.
